Job Description
As the unit manager for support and prevention, you will be responsible for leading, developing, and following up on the municipality's initiatives and activities aimed at adults and the elderly. This includes the target groups of social services as well as broad preventive measures that reach all residents through open meeting places and activities.
Your work will involve realizing the strategy for sustainable aging and coordinating the municipality-wide efforts toward this goal. The unit manager is also responsible for the development and implementation of projects and initiatives that enable lifestyle changes for the municipality's citizens, focusing on health, participation, and preventive work.
You are expected to switch between strategic and operational issues, handle assignments and questions that arise along the way, and work confidently without being stressed by changes or ongoing matters.
Final candidates will undergo a background check.

Responsibilities
As a unit manager, you have personnel, operational, work environment, and budget responsibilities. You lead, develop, and follow up on the operations according to legislation, the municipality's goals, and the social welfare board's management system for quality. You ensure the operation's contribution to the municipality's work for sustainable aging. The operations within the unit include meeting places for the elderly, day activities for dementia, family consultants, personal representatives, drug therapists, and senior supporters.
You are expected to integrate and drive the municipality's work with the strategy for sustainable aging and to initiate projects that enable lifestyle changes for citizens. You ensure integration into everyday operations and collaboration with civil society, primary care, and other municipal functions.
An important part of the role is to ensure that the operation is perceived as attractive and accessible. You are responsible for target group-adapted communication aimed at adults and the elderly, even outside social services, and collaborate with the municipality's communication function on campaigns and information initiatives.
You are a strategic link between the municipality and civil society. Together with associations and other actors, you develop forms of collaboration, activities, and joint initiatives that strengthen the municipality's work for an active and sustainable lifestyle.
Your role includes being part of the municipality's system management organization. You ensure that digital systems are used correctly and effectively and contribute to operationally relevant system development, including the implementation of new digital working methods.
You work systematically with follow-up, analysis, and development of the operation and are responsible for implementing the new intentions of the social services act. You also lead stimulation funding projects and innovation work.
If necessary, you participate in daily operations and ensure continuity, good service, and secure operations for citizens.
You report directly to the department head.
Qualifications
Degree in social work or relevant higher education in social work, behavioral science, public health, leadership, or similar
You have extensive experience as a manager within social services or a related field with documented good results
Experience in development work and project management
Experience in adult, elderly, or preventive operations
Preferred qualifications:
· experience from smaller municipalities with both strategic and operational work
· experience in work related to public health, lifestyle habits, or sustainable aging
· knowledge of procurement and contract follow-up
